Skoda Group has revealed its first all-electric product, spawned from the MEB modular electric automobile platform of Volkswagen Group, the Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV, marking its 125th birthday.
The new design concept for the cabin, dynamic interior design language and the electrical motors with a range of approximately 500 km at one single charge, is provided by Skoda Enyaqui iV rear- or all-wheel drive.
In the middle of Skoda, Mladá Boleslav, the EnyaqiV is making. The pre-reservations for the Enyaq iV begin at 2 September and are scheduled for launch on the European market in the first half of 2021. The exclusive edition of Enyaq iV Founders, limited to 1895 units, commemorates the firm’s 125 year anniversary of success, is a special highlight.
The whole new Enyaq iV is planned first. The new SUV is dynamic, with proportions and room. Skoda says that, while the Enyaq iV has shorter lengths than the Skoda Octavia, it has an interior space like a Skoda Kodiaq.
As Skoda calls it, the vivid crystal face is optional. The full headlights of the LED matrix improve the front lights of the large Skoda tank, while the full Led taillights have dynamic indicators. The sticker Skoda badge is mounted within the background block and is framed by a black matt spoiler in the roof and a grey diffuser rear bumper.
Optionally, a panoramic sliding roof is available as well as nickel, matt or gloss black roof poles, window frames and a Skoda grille frame. Standard 18-inch steel wheels are supplied with the Enyaq iV 50 while all other versions have alloys.
There are a total of 8 different wheel sets of 18 to 21 inches. The Enyaq iV is 4,649 mm in length, 1879 mm in width and 1,616 mm in height. The 2.765 mm wheelbase without a transmission tunnel offers additional space and significant quantities of rear kneeroom. The boot is 585 litres strong.
Skoda says the Enyaq iV interior is designed in a holistic way with organised interior choices focused on contemporary living spaces called the company design collection. For instance, the design, decorative trimmers, dashboard and different materials vary from each other.
The Skoda Enyaq 50 iV entry level features a rear-mounted motor of 109kW and a rear-wheel drive and has a max torque of 220Nm. It has a 55kWh gross power and a range of up to 340 km in lithium-ion batteries.
The 132kW ENYAQ 60 iV can cover up to 62kWh of battery for up to 390 km, and its torque is a maximum of 310Nm. The Enyaq 80 iV is 150 kW powered by a torque of up to 310 Nm, with a maximum range of 510 km in the WLTP loop.
In the two wheel-powered versions, the 82kWh battery is also used in combination with the second frontal electric motor, the Enyaq 80x iV produces 195kW and the Enyaq RS iV supplies 225kw. These two versions are 460 km in length.
